Leisure & Weekend Activities
Of course it is of no surprise that the leisure activities offered by a boarding school determine how attractive it is to prospective pupils. After school or at the weekends, our pupils can have fun, relax or even try out something new.
Never been horseback riding before or played rugby? Now is the chance to try it out! Ever wanted to play in a band? Internat Solling has one. Enjoy playing football? At our school, everybody can be a winner in various ball sports or other activities. We even have our own cinema, cafeteria and disco – so boredom is not an option. From sports to arts & culture, technology to crafts, music to social work – every pupil can find the perfect activities for their afternoons and weekends.
Project activities start at 2.30 pm – and classroom courses may run simultaneously until 4 pm. Upper Level pupils must also choose a social service to contribute something back to the community. At 5.15 pm, alls pupils do their homework. After supper at 7 pm, pupils have more time for group activities – house rules specify the exact curfew times for the pupils.
On weekends, pupils often go on trips and excursions. In addition to the many options available directly on the school grounds, pupils can visit Holzminden and its vicinity. The four areas of sports, arts & culture, science and social services provide our pupils with an opportunity to consciously organise their own leisure time with enriching activities. Our pupils from abroad cherish the opportunity to discover the myriad aspects of Germany and our local region.
Our leisure activities at Internat Solling contribute to creating a community at our school and provide different spheres where pupils can discover their talents. We strive to promote their development of team skills, self-awareness and other strengths. We want them to make the best of their skills!
Naturally, those pupils who simply want to relax after six busy days of school are free to do precisely that!
