Class Graduate Panels
Large wooden panels with the names of school graduates from each year are now hanging in the Schmilinsky Hall in our Lower House. Unfortunately, this venerable tradition was not consistently maintained over the years. As a part of the renovation work on the Lower House corridor, we have revived this custom.
The idea is to hang one large brass panel (21 x 15 cm) for each graduate class from 1947 onwards. In future, each graduating class will hang a panel as a part of celebrations on their final school day. Our renovation of the Lower House corridor is currently one of the most important projects of the foundation. In accordance with a concept developed by the Eulenburg consulting firm, which specialises in restoring historical buildings, Internat Solling is to be equipped with state-of-the-art functionality. Thus, the school buildings should not only be reconstructed in the historical sense but also re-designed in keeping with aesthetics of the existing building.
Since this will concept will necessarily generate significant costs, we are asking all alumni to contribute generously to their own graduate class panel and thus provide some relief for our school budget. Each class must donate at least € 2000 for their annual panel.
We hope to have our gallery of panels completed soon so that we can proudly display it to our visitors. As a motivation to potential donors, we will provide regular updates about the donation status our donations here: Which classes have already paid for their panel? Which classes have donated beyond the minimum and which class has contributed the largest amount? If you are interested in becoming your ‘class speaker’ and contacting former classmates about this action, we will gladly provide you with a list of graduates from your final year. It is easiest for all involved when the total fee is simply transferred in a single transaction to our fundraising account.
